ABNER WINS DAVID’S FAVOR
Abner Wins David’s Favor. Abner said to David, “Let me stand up and go, and gather all Israel to my lord the king, so that they may make a covenant (treaty) with you, and that you may reign over all that your soul desires.” So David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.
THE BATTLE OF GIBEON
The Battle of Gibeon. There was a very fierce battle that day, and Abner and the men of Israel were beaten before the servants of David.

Saul and the Medium of En-dor. Then Saul said to his servants, “Find for me a woman who is a medium [between the living and the dead], so that I may go to her and ask her advice.” His servants said to him, “There is a woman who is a medium at En-dor.”

THE DEATH OF SAMUEL
The Death of Samuel. Now Samuel died; and all Israel assembled and mourned for him, and they buried him at his house in Ramah. Then David left and went down to the Wilderness of Paran.
