INTRODUCTION TO JEREMIAH

Jeremiah was of priestly descent, and born at Anathoth, a Levitical city a few miles northeast of Jerusalem. His commission was given him in very early life, and continued through the reigns of five kings for forty troubled years. He had neither wife nor child. His love was concentrated on his people, who ill requited it. The men of Anathoth sought his life. He was assailed with misrepresentation, bitter persecution, and murderous hate. He nearly lost his life under the displeasure of the King and princes, at whose command he was cast into a miry dungeon. He lived to see a faint gleam of returning prosperity overcast by the crimes of Ishmael and his fellow-conspirators.

He was a sensitive, delicately organized man, to whom it must have been a matter of peculiar trial to be called upon to play so prominent a part in those dark and stormy times, and to be “as an iron and brazen wall against the whole land.” But he is an evidence of what may be done by a man in whom the Spirit of God resides in mighty, living force. Tradition states that he died in Egypt, stoned by his fellow-countrymen. It has been often said that there are few Old Testament saints who afford more points of likeness to our Lord than does Jeremiah.

New Covenant Israelite! "And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;  Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee."  Rom 11:17 -18

    1. My anguish is that I do not serve my Lord well, not that it will save me serving Him, but because HE loved me first and saved me by HIS grace.

    1. Are we still sacrificing our children to Molech by not teaching them in the way of the Lord, therefor causing them to end up in fire where the worm does not die, a place called Hell.

    1. It is just unbelievable to see what humans can do to Children sacrifice. We still sacrifice our children for not teaching them the ways of the LORD OF HOSTS.

    1. How can any person or nation who has a God that speak to them directly, leave that Speaking GOD and follow wooden carvings who cannot utter a single word? It is totally not understandable.

    1. Let these words find a place in our hearts and let us honor GOD for his Righteousness; “You, O LORD are [uncompromisingly] righteous and consistently just when I plead my case with You; Yet let me discuss issues of justice with You: Why has the way of the wicked prospered? Why are those who deal in treachery (deceit) at ease and thriving?”

    1. Have we ever wondered why this world and its people are suffering the way it does? They seek it by rejecting the Creator of all things the Lord of Hosts.

    1. The New Testament tells us that Satan Himself will be presented as a angel of light and will stand as preacher in the pulpit. and it is happening today just like in the time of Juda and Jeremiah and Isaiah, we still has false prophets today even.

    1. We thank God the Creator of Heaven and Earth for his Son Jesus Christ who came to pay with HIS life for our sins, se we can have eternal life.

    1. And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

    1. For forty years and more the Lord maintained Israel in the Desert after they left Egypt, and the Lord showed them very clearly which day the Sabbath is. On the sixth day, they had to pick up a double portion of mana, one portion for the six day and one portion for the 7th day the Sabbath. Those who went out to pick up on the Sabath was killed. The Sabath started on Friday when the sun sets and ended on Saturday just before sunset. The days started at sunset and ended just before sun set.
Isreal are God’s elect to show us the way, just like Jesus and His Disciples of Jesus did.

    1. We thank you for your God the Creator of Heavens and Earth, the LORD OF HOSTS, for Jesus Christ who came to save us, as we were like a broken Flask, totally broken and useless.

      1. Let us never forget that GOD is the Creator of Heaven and Earth, that HE is a Sovereign GOD and all that exist belongs to HIM, let us serve and Praise HIM every day of our lives.
