OUTLINE OF THE SECOND EPISTLE OF PETER

His purpose in this dying charge is to caution the Christian community against the dangers which were insidiously at work among them, and were more to be feared than persecution from without. His great argument to this end is the near advent of our Lord.

CALLED TO BE HOLY REDEEMED AND PRURIFIED

So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit–steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

THE SUPREMACY OF GOD’S SON

GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE SCEPTER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.

OUTLINE OF THE SECOND EPISTLE TO TIMOTHY

This is the last Epistle of the great Apostle, who was apparently awaiting sentence.

TO LIVE IS CHRIST PRIVILEGED TO SUFFER IN CHRIST’S BEHALF

But I am hard-pressed between the two. I have the desire to leave [this world] and be with Christ, for that is far, far better;
yet to remain in my body is more necessary and essential for your sake.
